A dropper bottle assembly consists of three distinct components: a heavy moulded glass reservoir, a threaded plastic or aluminium collar, and a flexible rubber or silicone suction bulb. Standard folding cartons that lack internal restraint allow the glass bottle to shift during transit. When dropped, the bottle's shoulder impacts the carton sidewall, transferring shock directly to the fragile glass pipette inside. Clinical Efficacy & Drop-Tested Pipette Protection
The primary point of structural failure in glass dropper packaging is the fragile glass pipette running through the center of the bottle. In standard commercial folding boxes, if a carton is dropped on its top corner, the impact energy is transmitted directly through the carton closure flap into the flexible rubber bulb. Because rubber compresses under sudden load, the glass pipette is forced violently downward against the concave bottom of the glass bottle reservoir, causing the pipette tip to shatter.
To completely eliminate this catastrophic failure mode, QPack's structural packaging engineers design specialized internal suspension collars. These die-cut paperboard collars grip the glass bottle around its rigid glass shoulder—completely isolating the rubber bulb and upper pipette mechanism from external impacts. When dropped, the impact energy is absorbed by the carton's outer paperboard crumple zones, while the delicate pipette mechanism remains untouched in free suspension.
