Practical guidance

Begin with the actual container

Bottles, jars, pumps and tubes need a pack that accounts for their shape and vulnerable parts. Measure the complete container, including any cap or pump. If products form a set, show their arrangement and approximate packed weight.

Tell us whether the pack is for retail display, a gift presentation or individual courier delivery. Those settings can lead to different choices for the outer box and internal support.

Transparent Stickers

Transparent stickers make the packaging underneath part of your design. Clear space can reveal glass, a product colour or a carefully chosen container, while your logo appears to sit lightly on the surface. The effect depends on the film, adhesive and print layers working together. Tell QPack what you are labelling, which areas should remain clear and how you want the colours to look. We will assess the construction and artwork around your actual packaging.

Work through your brief

01

Give labels the right conditions

A label for a dry outer carton faces different conditions from one on a bottle used with damp hands. Describe the container material, curvature, application conditions and any contact with oils or cleaning products. Ask for the complete label construction to be confirmed.

Test the proposed material on the filled container. Adhesive, print and finish must suit the intended use together; a film label is not automatically proof of waterproof or chemical-resistant performance.

02

Leave room for accurate information

Plan a readable hierarchy for the product name, directions and other copy your product requires. Provide approved wording and have any regulated information reviewed by the appropriate specialist. Printing support does not replace that review.

Check barcodes and QR codes at the final size and on the curved surface where they will be used. Keep the code’s clear space free from artwork and finishes that could make scanning unreliable.

03

Make the interior work for the product

An insert can separate containers, control their presentation and make the set easier to unpack. Allow room to lift items out without putting strain on a pump, lid or decoration. Develop the box and insert together so their dimensions remain compatible.

For transit, review the complete pack and test it under representative handling. A presentation insert may need additional outer protection for fragile glass or a heavier gift set.

04

Agree the finish before approving artwork

Foil, embossing and printed interiors can create a distinct presentation. Discuss those choices with the material and structural details, because each finish can affect artwork preparation, cost and timing.

Use an appropriate proof or sample for the decisions that matter. A screen layout can confirm positioning, while a material sample helps you assess feel and appearance. Keep the approved version for future production.
